Moussé Dramé was born in the well-known Malian Griot family Diabaté-Dramé in Dakar, Senegal. Moussé started to play before he could walk as he grew up with his traditional music & dance family. At the age of 12 Moussé was professional djembé and doundoun player in the Malian tradition. He then studied and performed in various Senegalese ballets als the sabar, seourouba and krin. At the age of 15 he toured throughout Europe and his talent as a teacher and love for teaching was already obvious. He successfully followed his education as musician and teacher at Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Dakar. Since 1998 Moussé lives in Amsterdam and founded with his wife Turid Dramé the Djembé Dramé company. Moussé teaches over 15 student groups weekly in Holland and gives workshops throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the US, Switzerland, Lithuania and China. His classes and workshops are known for the interaction of hard work, fun and enthusiasm between his students and himself. His dream is that the West African culture is spread and as he says: “I want to pass on the rhythms as I’ve learned by my master teachers in the villages to those who are interested to learn them”.
Turid Dramé
As a teacher of West African dance, Pilates and Essentrics, Turid always trains herself while teaching others for the enjoyment of moving. African Dance is the ultimate with its cultural background (movements are also a language) and live music. Pilates is the pleasure of landing in your body and creating awareness. Essentrics is the joy of dynamic movement, body awareness and balancing your body well. Receiving the energy and joy from her students is Turid’s motivation and reward. When someone calls her after a class to say that she can look over her shoulder again when driving her car, it brings her a lot of joy!

Tom van Huijstee
is loving music from his early years. When he was 19 he played in the Roxy amsterdam with DJ Dimitri where his career as a DJ started. Beginning of 2000 he started to drum, and started lessons in the African percussion in 2004 with Ponda O’Bryan and Moussé Dramé. In 2014 he picked up the classes again with Mousse for his energy and drive and stayed eversince.
Now Tom brings Mousse and Turid to Ibiza to share his love for the vibration of the island and to celibrate life! Join us!
